Solar power plants are planned to be installed in 300 hospitals in Ukraine

Ukraine received almost 6 thousand solar panels from the Italian company “Enel S.p.A.” with a total capacity of about 2 MW. They will be installed in hospitals. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Energy.

This is part of the “Ray of Hope” initiative launched by the European Commission together with the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The department noted that the project is already being actively implemented in 18 medical institutions in five regions of Ukraine.

Solar power plants have been fully commissioned in three hospitals – in Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions. In particular, in the Kyiv region, a solar power plant was put into operation at the Primary Health Care Center in Kotsyubynskyi. Currently, installation of solar stations is underway in six more medical institutions, and tender procedures have already been conducted in 25 institutions.

“Already at the stage of working out the project concept, we decided that we need to support medical institutions. This is extremely important in the conditions when Russia is bombarding our energy sector every day with missiles and drones, because the equipment allows us to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the critical equipment of hospitals, which means the lives of hundreds and thousands of patients.

Mandatory availability of batteries and hybrid inverters means that hospitals will provide services even in the absence of a centralized power supply.” – said Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak.

According to him, at the first stage, it is planned to install solar panels at about 20 facilities. Projects for 83 institutions are already in the works. The ultimate goal is to implement the project in about 300 hospitals throughout Ukraine.
