Spain allocates 200 million euros to upgrade Ukraine’s energy and infrastructure

Spain has allocated an additional 200 million euros for the modernization of Ukraine’s energy and infrastructure systems. As reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the relevant decision was announced following a meeting with the head of the Spanish Office for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Clara Guzmán Zapater.

First Deputy Minister Alena Shkrum noted that the total amount of support from Spain has already exceeded 845 million euros. According to her, the new financing package will allow the implementation of priority projects and provide tangible social results for Ukrainian communities.

During the negotiations, the issue was the start of full-fledged work of the office, which will function on the principle of a “single window” for Spanish companies. This involves simplifying access to grant programs, preferential lending, and technical assistance to participate in the reconstruction processes.

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine also invited partners from Spain to join the implementation of already prepared projects in the energy and logistics sectors with the involvement of the private sector.

The Ministry of Development emphasized that the key task of the Spanish Office for the Reconstruction of Ukraine is to coordinate resources for recovery, support reforms and modernization of the state, and actively involve Spanish business in these processes.
