Svyrydenko will meet separately with each faction of the Verkhovna Rada before ratifying the subsoil agreement

Yuliya Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, will hold meetings with People’s Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada before the vote on the ratification of the agreement with the US on mineral resources. It is about separate meetings with each faction, reported Serhiy Sobolev, deputy chairman of the “Batkivshchyna” party.

According to him, a message was sent to all factions the other day that there will be meetings with Svyridenko and authorized representatives who participated in the signing of the agreement on behalf of Ukraine.

“Currently, we have not had the opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the applications, possibly because there are documents that represent state or commercial secrets and this cannot be announced publicly.” Sobolev explained.

He noted that the meetings with the minister will allow the deputies to ask questions and get more details about the agreement concluded with the USA. Meetings with the factions are scheduled for May 6 and 7, and the parliament is scheduled to vote on ratification on May 8.

We will remind that on the night of May 1, Ukraine and the USA signed a strategic agreement on the creation of the Investment Fund for reconstruction and partnership in the field of critical minerals. The document covers 57 minerals and establishes the political framework for cooperation, fixed at the time of signing in Washington. Other details are to be defined in the next “technical agreement”.
