Sybiha commented on the likelihood of the end of the war in Ukraine on January 21

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga expressed the opinion that after the inauguration of the newly elected US President Donald Trump, Ukraine will have new opportunities to achieve a “just peace”.

During the election campaign, Trump repeatedly claimed that he could end the Russian-Ukrainian war “in 24 hours.”

“Do you think that this is a simple question? I am convinced that we will get an additional chance, additional opportunities to bring a just peace for Ukraine closer. I am convinced of this.”, – noted the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The minister also commented on the peace plan prepared by Trump’s advisers. The plan envisages, in particular, the postponement of Ukraine’s accession to NATO. Official proposals in this regard can only be presented after January 20, and only then will it become clear what the next steps will be.

“As of now, it is necessary to treat any documents, non-papers, ideas voiced by different voices in different media without unnecessary emotions. Here we can rely on the fact that this is testing the reaction of both the world and Ukraine. That is why we are firm, we have the strategic task is Ukraine’s membership in NATO. The entire philosophy of our peace formula and victory plan is built on this.”, – emphasized the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
