The Armed Forces of Ukraine denied the Russian Federation’s reports about the capture of the village of Hraniv, Dergachiv community, Kharkiv region
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have denied Russia’s claim that it has allegedly captured the village of Hraniv in the Dergachiv community of the Kharkiv region, located near the border with Russia.
“The report by Russian sources about the alleged capture of the village of Hraniv in the Dergachiv community of the Kharkiv region by Russian military personnel and the “destruction” of units of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is untrue. The village of Hraniv is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the 14th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” said.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine are holding the designated lines, restraining the offensive actions of the Russians and inflicting losses on them in personnel and equipment. The military also stated that reports from Russian resources about allegedly successful assaults, close combat and shelling of their own units are elements of an information campaign.
On May 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the capture of Graniv and released a video with episodes of the fighting, which it called evidence. The Russian side also claimed that control over the village allegedly creates conditions for further advancement in the direction of Kozachaya Lopan.
Graniv is located on the banks of the Lopan River. According to the official position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the settlement remains under the control of the Ukrainian military.
