The assembly of BREN-2 assault rifles has been launched in Ukraine
Licensed assembly of BREN-2 assault rifles has begun at one of the enterprises of the “Ukrainian Defense Industry” joint-stock company. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Czech company Česká zbrojovka, a subsidiary of Colt CZ. About this informs press service of “Ukroboronprom”.
The agreement on the localization of the assembly of rifles was concluded in July 2024. The document envisages a gradual transition from licensed assembly to a full production cycle of NATO-standard assault rifles at Ukrainian factories.
The General Director of Ukroboronprom Oleg Gulyak emphasized that the partnership with Czech colleagues will provide the Ukrainian Defense Forces with modern and reliable weapons manufactured in Ukraine.
“In addition, another step has been taken towards the integration of our defense-industrial complex into the industrial chains of NATO countries”, – he noted.
CZ BREN 2 assault rifles are widely used by military and law enforcement agencies around the world, including the Army of the Czech Republic, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the French Gendarmerie (GIGN), the Portuguese Army, the Polish Border Guard, and the Romanian Gendarmerie.
