The body of the mayor of Dniprorudny, Zaporizhzhia region, Yevgeny Matveev, was returned to Ukraine as part of the latest exchange. “The Russians captured Dniprorudne, Zaporizhzhia region, at the end of February 2022. Later, they also captured the mayor – Yevgeny Matveev. He was held captive by the occupiers for 2 years and 8 months and was tortured. During the last exchange, his body was returned to Ukraine.” Fedorov said.
The head of the OVA remembered Matveev as a person with a great sense of duty and a true patriot.
