The Ministry of Health of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Alliance for Medical Exchange and Development
A meeting was held with the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health Mykhailo Radutsky and the representative of the Alliance for Medical Exchange and Development (UA-MED) Dr. Douglas J. Davis. Within the framework of the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at strengthening partnership in the field of health care.
The signing of the document became a new stage in cooperation between Ukraine and the international medical community. The memorandum provides for the coordination of humanitarian and medical aid, the implementation of training programs for Ukrainian doctors, the exchange of experience and knowledge, the introduction of innovative practices and the strengthening of the health care system’s readiness for modern challenges. In the long term, this will contribute to the modernization of Ukrainian medicine and its integration into European standards.
During the meeting, Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko thanked UA-MED for constant support of Ukraine, in particular for training programs for doctors, development of rehabilitation medicine, establishment of international partnerships and dissemination of Ukrainian experience in the world. He emphasized that the signed Memorandum will allow more effective coordination of efforts and implementation of joint initiatives necessary for the development of the country’s medical system.
“This Memorandum is another step towards a sustainable and modern health care system. We are grateful to UA-MED for its willingness to be a part of this process. Together we are creating new opportunities for training doctors, sharing knowledge, developing rehabilitation and supporting the mental health of Ukrainians”, – noted Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko.
The Alliance for Medical Exchange and Development (UA-MED) unites leading doctors, scientists and teachers from the most prestigious medical institutions in the USA and Europe, including Harvard University, Stanford and Yale Medical Schools, Johns Hopkins University and others. The organization serves as a platform for professional exchanges, scientific cooperation, training of Ukrainian specialists and implementation of advanced medical practices.
The association actively helps Ukraine through educational programs, scientific projects, development of rehabilitation medicine and initiatives in the field of mental health. One of the key priorities of UA-MED is to provide Ukrainian doctors with access to the best international experience, which strengthens the health care system today and creates the basis for its development in the future.
