The body of Victoria Roshchina was handed over with signs of autopsy and without some internal organs
The body of Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roshchyna, who died in Russian captivity, was handed over to Ukraine with a mark in the documents as “unidentified male”. In addition, the body was returned without part of the internal organs. About this it is said in the “Project Victoria” investigation in cooperation with Forbidden Stories and other international media.
During the examination in Ukraine, it was discovered that the brain, eyeballs and part of the trachea were missing from the body. The journalists indicate that the body with the number 757 arrived on February 14, 2025, together with the rest of the bodies of the dead Ukrainian soldiers. It also had an obscure “SPAS” mark on it.
Pathologists immediately determined that it was a woman’s body, and an examination conducted by the Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed a 99% DNA match with journalist Victoria Roshchyna. The investigative team reported that the body arrived with signs of an autopsy conducted on the territory of Russia. According to an international expert, the absence of certain organs may indicate an attempt to hide the signs of death from suffocation or suffocation. The marking “SPAS” probably means “total defeat of the arteries of the heart” – the formal version of the cause of death indicated by the Russian side.
We will remind that on April 24, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that it was not possible to establish the cause of death of Victoria Roshchyna due to the condition of the body. On the same day, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Leonid Tymchenko confirmed that her body had been returned to Ukraine.
Later, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Yurchyshyn reported that the body was returned as part of the exchange at the end of February. According to him, at first it was necessary to keep silent in order to make sure that the transferred body really belonged to Viktoria Roshchyna.
In March, Slidstva.Info journalists established that the journalist was brutally tortured while being held in Russian captivity. There were stab wounds on her body and she weighed less than 30 kilograms at the time of her death.
