The thirteenth VinBookFest book festival took place in Vinnytsia on the European Square, which gathered about 85 authors from different regions of Ukraine and the region. told about this by the director of the cultural institution “ Vinnytsia City Centralized Library System” and the organizer of the festival Olena Zakvatska.
“Today we are holding the thirteenth book festival VinBookFest, which, of course, is dedicated to Vinnytsia’s birthday. Almost 40 authors from all over Ukraine, 45 writers from Vinnytsia region, 15 publishing houses and hundreds of books that will reach our residents of Vinnytsia came to us,” said Olena Zakvatska.
She explained that all festival participants presented new editions printed in 2024-2025.
“All presentations that take place within the framework of the festival are presentations of new books. Different meetings take place in different locations. We have a location for authors of literature about the war, children’s writers, writers from Vinnytsia. The idea of the festival is to popularize Ukrainian books, get to know authors, get to know writers, get to know publishing houses and popularize our Ukrainian language first and foremost, the organizer stressed.
Within the framework of VinBookFest, the charitable campaign “Give a book to a warrior” took place. The collected books will be handed over to medical institutions where servicemen undergo rehabilitation.
“This is the fourth festival to be held under the conditions of a full-scale invasion. And, of course, there is a charitable part of the festival — we collect books for our defenders. Action “Give a book to a warrior” is held for the first time at this festival under this name and is aimed at collecting books that will become spiritual and emotional support for those who protect us, Zakvatska added.
