The Bureau of Economic Security arrested the assets of a sanctioned oligarch.

Detectives of the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in Kyiv imposed seizure of a real estate complex in the center of the capital with an area of more than 6.7 thousand square meters, as well as 291 million hryvnias. These assets were held in the accounts of a company controlled by a sanctioned oligarch.
For information sources of the publication “Economichna pravda”, it is about Kostyantyn Zhevago.
The entrepreneur and former People’s Deputy is currently hiding abroad, as he was previously declared an international wanted man. Sanctions were also applied to him in accordance with the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Despite this, he continued to do business in Ukraine.
The investigation established that in order to circumvent sanctions and legalize assets, he organized the re-registration of ownership rights to companies associated with him. In order to maintain control over the property complex and avoid its seizure, the defendant involved former top managers of the bank, which had previously gone bankrupt, in the scheme. Thanks to this re-registration, he actually tried to keep the object in his possession.
In order to preserve assets for further transfer to state ownership, detectives seized the property. The pre-trial investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
We will remind that on May 6, ARMA announced tenders for the selection of managers and appraisers for the complex of seized assets belonging to the oligarch Zhevago. This list includes the corporate rights of 28 companies, seven distilleries, 121 real estate objects and 99 vehicles.
