The Cabinet of Ministers allocated 8.4 billion hryvnias for gas imports for the heating season
On October 23, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate 8.4 billion hryvnias for gas imports to meet the needs during the heating season. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
“The government has allocated 8.4 billion hryvnias for gas imports for the heating season for the population. This decision is part of preparations for winter in conditions of shelling. Ukraine needs more gas for a stable heating season”, – Svyrydenko said.
The report notes that due to Russian attacks on gas infrastructure, Ukraine has temporarily lost part of its own production. The purchase of additional energy resources should ensure a stable supply of gas and heat to Ukrainian homes during the period of energy terror by Russia.
“The government, together with Naftogaz, is doing everything necessary to guarantee a stable heating season in Ukraine”, added Svyrydenko.
Recall that on October 22, Norway allocated an additional $150 million to Ukraine for the purchase of gas. These funds will be used to ensure stable electricity and heat supply in the autumn-winter period in cooperation with the European Union.
“Ukraine is once again facing a severe winter, and energy supply remains unstable. Together with the European Union, we are stepping up efforts to ensure that Ukrainian families, businesses and institutions have access to energy. This is important both for the people and for the functioning of the state, said Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
