The Cabinet of Ministers extended housing payments for the most vulnerable categories of IDPs
The government decided to extend housing payments for the most vulnerable categories of internally displaced persons for another six months – until February 2026. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity.
“In August 2025, the deadline for payment of housing allowance for some IDPs from the most vulnerable categories, who received the payment for the previous three six-month periods, expired. Since these funds help a person go through the difficult period of finding housing and work, settling in a new community, the government will extend these payments for another 6 months, i.e. until February 2026, the department said in a statement.
The relevant resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on August 26. It applies to people with disabilities of groups I-III, families with children up to 18 years old (or up to 23 years old in the case of education), as well as families with only disabled people.
In addition, the document provides for changes to the procedure for calculating benefits. In particular, the presence of more than UAH 100,000 in a deposit account will no longer be grounds for refusing payments to orphans, children deprived of parental care, as well as those for whom the fact of lack of parental care has been established and who are temporarily placed in the families of relatives, acquaintances, foster families or family-type children’s homes.
If an able-bodied person who does not work, after the cessation of payments within the current six-month period, registers at the employment center as unemployed or is employed in another way, the benefit is restored to him from the month when he started working. Payments will be extended automatically, so you do not need to apply for them.
Currently, the amount of assistance is UAH 2,000 per adult and UAH 3,000 per child or person with a disability, an IDP. Payments are made monthly for each family member from vulnerable categories or those with low incomes.
