The Cabinet of Ministers extended preferential gas prices for heat producers

The Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to extend the provisions on the imposition of special obligations (PSO) on natural gas market participants in terms of fuel tariffs for thermal energy producers. Thus, preferential prices for heat producers have been extended until October 31, 2025. About this reported Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
“We approve the resolution according to which the supply of natural gas under the PSO regime for heat supply enterprises will be extended until October 31 of this year. This means the preservation of preferential gas prices for heat producers for the needs of the population and budget institutions.”, he noted.
According to the current PSO mechanism, the Naftogaz Trading company is obliged to sell gas to heat and hot water suppliers for the population at a fixed rate of UAH 7,420 per thousand cubic meters. Shmyhal also reminded that in March the government extended the effect of reduced tariffs for household consumers.
“Tariffs for heat, hot water and gas will continue to be unchanged. Subsidies for the non-heating season will be reassigned automatically to the absolute majority of those who currently receive them.” Shmyhal explained.
In addition, the government decided to allocate more than 500 million hryvnias for the needs of hospitals in seven regions – Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kherson. The funds are intended to cover the costs of paying for communal services.
We will remind that on April 9, the National Commission for Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP) left the thermal energy tariff for the capital’s CHP-5 and CHP-6 of the Kyivteploenergo enterprise at UAH 969.89/Gcal. This tariff will be valid for the entire period of martial law and for another six months after its end.
