The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated additional funds of UAH 343.9 million to support local budgets
On October 25, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the second stage of distribution of additional subsidies to support local budgets in the third quarter. About this informs Government portal.
A total of 343.9 million hryvnias will be directed to local communities affected by Russian aggression, including de-occupied, temporarily occupied and other territories. The main part of these funds is intended for the payment of salaries to employees of budget and communal institutions in the affected regions.
The distribution of funding was carried out in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers resolution of December 30, 2022, which establishes funding priorities depending on the level of the threat of hostilities:
- Luhansk region and 17 communities where active hostilities are ongoing will receive UAH 15.1 million;
- 37 communities that are under the potential threat of hostilities will receive UAH 255.9 million;
- 10 communities that survived active hostilities or were de-occupied will receive UAH 17.6 million;
- 18 communities where hostilities have ended or are not being conducted will receive UAH 55.3 million.
In general, since the beginning of 2024, the government has already provided additional subsidies to local budgets in the amount of UAH 25.9 billion — 50% more than for the entire year of 2023, when UAH 17.2 billion was allocated.
It should also be noted that since April 22, local authorities have exempted businesses from paying land tax, real estate tax, and a single tax. The government compensates local budgets for these losses from the state budget.
