The Cabinet of Ministers has simplified the requirements for opening pharmacies in villages

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved changes to licensing conditions that simplify the procedure for opening pharmacies in villages. From now on, obtaining a license no longer requires complex architectural changes. It is enough to organize the zoning of the premises in accordance with the updated norms, informs Government portal.
“This will make it easier for entrepreneurs to choose premises for pharmacy establishments, their planning and arrangement, and therefore it will be possible to use the premises at a much lower cost or rent.” – the message says.
One of the key changes was the reduction of the minimum sales floor area from 13.5 m² to 11 m², while the total area of the pharmacy remained at 30 m².
Previously, rural pharmacies had to have separate premises for the trading hall, storage of medicines and rooms for employees. Now it is enough that the total area of the pharmacy is at least 18 m², with a retail area of at least 6 m², without mandatory division into separate rooms.
“Simplified requirements will encourage more pharmacies to open in remote settlements. This will facilitate access to medicines for people who live far from cities.” – the government explained.
