The Cabinet of Ministers officially stopped the competition for the position of head of the “GTS Operator”
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko reportedthat the Cabinet of Ministers officially stopped the competition for the position of head of the strategic state enterprise “GTS Operator”.
According to the head of government, this decision was made in connection with the publication of materials from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) investigation into possible corruption schemes at Energoatom. Svyrydenko emphasized that one of the finalists in the competition for the position of head of the state-owned enterprise appears in these materials.
“Under such conditions, continuing the tender procedure is incompatible with the principles of transparency, integrity and trust in the process. The tender will be resumed after an additional check of the integrity of its participants,”— the Prime Minister explained.
In addition, the government instructed the supervisory boards of state-owned companies, particularly in the energy and defense sectors, to conduct audits of their enterprises.
The supervisory boards of Naftogaz, Ukroboronprom, Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrhydroenergo and state-owned banks must, within their powers, conduct an analysis of the work of the executive bodies of these companies. If violations are identified, they must take additional measures to strengthen control and inform the Government, as well as ensure a prompt response to reports from law enforcement agencies about violations related to officials of the relevant joint-stock companies.
In parallel, the State Audit Service will carry out state financial control of large public sector enterprises, in particular regarding the efficiency of the use of budget funds and the reliability of financial reporting.
