The Cabinet of Ministers opened all borders for the passage of military goods

A new government decree provides for the expansion of the number of checkpoints for military goods during martial law.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution that significantly simplifies the delivery of military goods across the country’s customs border. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Finance.

The resolution, adopted on August 2, provides for the expansion of the number of checkpoints for military goods during the period of martial law. This will ensure the unimpeded movement of military goods through all open border crossing points, including those coming from partner states.

Thanks to these changes, enterprises that ensure the defense capability of the state will be able to avoid complications due to force majeure circumstances associated with the blocking of checkpoints. This will allow optimizing the logistics of supplying military goods, saving time and money, the Ministry of Finance notes.

In addition to internal changes, on June 20 the EU and Ukraine agreed to extend the agreement, known as the visa-free transport agreement, for one year, with the possibility of an automatic extension until the end of 2025. This agreement, signed for the first time in June 2022, cancels the need for Ukrainian carriers to obtain permits to enter EU countries. This greatly facilitated the export of Ukrainian products at the beginning of the Russian invasion and the total blockade of sea ports.

Previously, each EU country limited Ukrainian carriers with quotas, which created additional difficulties for logistics. The continuation of the agreement is an important step in maintaining economic stability and ensuring uninterrupted supply of necessary goods.

The changes adopted by the government will allow enterprises that ensure Ukraine’s defense capability to more effectively manage logistics and respond more quickly to the needs of the army. Expanding checkpoints for military goods will reduce dependence on individual routes and minimize the risks associated with blocking supply routes.
