The Chancellor of Germany advised Ukrainians to look for work
Germany’s labor market needs hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, said Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He urged Ukrainian refugees to get a job. The head of the government of Germany also stated that the country will not return conscripted men to Ukraine if they get a job and receive a permanent residence permit.
“We hope that those who came from Ukraine, as soon as they have the opportunity to work, will work. It is worth saying that many are already doing it, but there are still several hundreds of thousands of those who are urgently needed on the labor market,” he notes. Olaf Scholz.
The chancellor reassured Ukrainian men about the possible deportation of conscripts from the country. He assured: if a person is in Germany legally, he will not be deported.
“The legal situation is such that residence here is not in question. Employment also leads to security of residence,” the head of the German government noted.
It will be recalled that currently 1.1 million Ukrainians have received protection status in Germany. 716 thousand of them are people of working age. With only 113 thousand of them are officially employed full time. Another 36,000 of our fellow citizens are partially employed, that is, they work part-time.
