The commander of a military unit was suspected of purchasing beds at inflated prices: the SBI
The State Bureau of Investigation has declared suspicion against the commander of a military unit in the Lviv region, who in 2022 purchased beds for the military at inflated prices, without following proper procedures. About this informs DBR press office.
“Products were purchased without applying established procedures, directly from suppliers. The commander of the unit allowed payment without checking the market value of the goods and contrary to the requirements for conducting such purchases.
In this way, more than 3 thousand were purchased. bunk beds at a price of 21.7 million hryvnias, which exceeded the market price by one and a half times. The total amount of damages caused to the state amounted to more than 8.5 million hryvnias”, says the message.
The commander of the military unit is suspected of a negligent attitude to military service, which led to grave consequences in the conditions of martial law (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 8 years. Measures are currently being taken to compensate the state for damages.
