The court confiscated a luxurious apartment worth UAH 1.2 million from the Vinnytsia military commissar

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine issued a decision regarding the confiscation of an apartment worth over UAH 1.2 million, located near Vinnytsia, which was registered to 64-year-old pensioner Mykola Poterlevich, the father of Roman Poterlevich, the head of Vinnytsia TCC and JV. About this informs Anti-Corruption Center.

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office claims that the apartment was purchased without any real financial contributions. According to the prosecutor, the registration of the property in the father’s name served only to hide the fact of the transfer of the apartment to the head of the TCC. As the prosecutor noted, the developer, who was building a residential complex, decided to give military personnel eight apartments, including this one.

According to the case materials, the head of Vinnytsia OVA Serhiy Borzov asked the developer to hand over one of the apartments to Poterlevych, at the same time registering it in his father’s name. This was supposed to protect Poterlevich, Jr. from losing the right to receive free housing, because registration for it could jeopardize this right.

The State Bureau of Investigation seized the apartment back in August 2023, but it was not enough. The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office appealed to the court with a claim for confiscation, which was satisfied.

We will remind that in the summer of 2022, the head of the Vinnytsia Military Committee, without any legal grounds, received an apartment in the city of Vinnytsia worth 1.2 million UAH free of charge, registering it for his father. After a thorough investigation, the SAP filed a lawsuit in court, which ended with the confiscation of real estate into state revenue.
