The court extended the preventive measure for NABU detective Maghamedrasulov
The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv extended the preventive measure of NABU detective Ruslan Maghamedrasulovu in the form of a personal bond until March 15. As Maghamedrasulovu’s lawyer Olena Shcherban reported, the court also granted the prosecutors’ request and extended the pre-trial investigation period for another three months – until April 21, increasing the total investigation period to 9 months.
“Our side, in turn, is looking for experts abroad to conduct research on the audio recordings on which the accusation is based”, – Shcherban reported.
According to prosecutors, the recordings of telephone conversations allegedly show Maghamedrasulov negotiating the supply of cannabis to the Republic of Dagestan in Russia. The defense claims that the matter involved the sale of narcotics to Uzbekistan.
At the same time, the court softened the preventive measure for the detective’s father, Sentyabr Maghamedrasulov, leaving him only the obligation to report a change of residence. Lawyer Viktor Karpenko explained that on January 22, the term of the preliminary preventive measure expired, which included, among other things, the surrender of the passport for safekeeping. The next day, prosecutors requested that the requirements be limited to only notifying the change of residence.
“There is only one requirement. Our client will comply with it, but this can be considered nothing, no restrictions. The preventive measure was chosen for 60 days”, Karpenko noted.
