The court left Shufrych in custody and ordered him to create proper conditions for his deputy activities in the pre-trial detention center
A hearing was held in the Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv in the case of People’s Deputy Nestor Shufrych and his former assistant Vyacheslav Cherepany. Court continued remand for the accused, leaving them in custody.
He also explained in court that Shufrych has the right to perform his duties as a deputy while in pretrial detention. The administration of the detention center must provide conditions that will allow it to submit parliamentary requests and develop draft laws.
We will remind that Shufrych and his assistant are accused of financing the Russian Guard in the occupied territory of Crimea. Earlier, the former deputy of the People’s Republic of Ukraine was suspected of treason from the banned “Opposition Platform – For Life”.
It was established that the people’s deputy and his assistant, together with other persons trusted by the people’s deputy, ensured the registration of real estate – a house and a plot of land in the village of Simeiz, AR Crimea, according to the laws of the Russian Federation, after the occupation of the peninsula by the enemy. Shufrych acquired this property in 2013 through a controlled enterprise and trustees.
