The court nationalized the assets of Yanukovych’s former bodyguard

The higher anti-corruption court satisfied the lawsuit of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine regarding the nationalization of the seized assets of Vyacheslav Zanevskyi, the former head of the security service of the fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych. About this informs press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

A hotel complex in Bukovel, five objects of intellectual property, twelve plots of land, two apartments, four parking spaces, a vehicle, ten weapons, as well as cash in the amount of over 300,000 hryvnias were transferred to the state. The total value of nationalized assets exceeds UAH 100 million.

The investigation established that in 2008-2012, Zanevsky headed Yanukovych’s security service, and after the start of Russia’s armed aggression, he illegally left the territory controlled by Ukraine. While in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region and Crimea, he helped his son – an employee of the FSB of the Russian Federation – in identifying pro-Ukrainian citizens. Later, he headed the security of the governor of the Ulyanovsk region of the Russian Federation.

The indictment against Zanevskyi for aiding the aggressor state and illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives is currently being considered by the court under Articles 111-2 and 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
