The Court of Appeals left former head of Ukrenergo Kudrytskyi in custody, reducing bail
The Kyiv Court of Appeal left former Chairman of the Board of NEC “Ukrenergo” Volodymyr Kudrytsky in custody, while reducing the amount of bail by half – to over 7 million hryvnias.
Kudrytsky’s lawyers requested that the preventive measure be changed to a personal bond with the imposition of appropriate obligations, but the court did not support this proposal. Prosecutors insisted on maintaining the previous decision, and the court decided to keep the former Chairman of “Ukrenergo” in custody with the possibility of posting bail of 7,000,736 hryvnias. Previously, the Pecherskyi District Court set bail at almost 14 million hryvnias.
As reported, in September last year, Kudrytsky was dismissed from the post of head of NPC “Ukrenergo” after the Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters on August 30 with the participation of Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko. After that, he was offered voluntary dismissal.
The State Bureau of Investigation searched Kudrytskyi on October 21 as part of an investigation into possible abuse of office and embezzlement of state company funds. On October 28, he was detained on suspicion of fraudulently embezzling tens of millions of hryvnias. During the election of the preventive measure, Kudrytsky was bailed by MPs Inna Sovsun and Maksym Khlapuk. On October 30, he was released from pretrial detention after posting bail of almost 14 million hryvnias.
