The European Security Summit ended in London
The London summit on European defense and security ended after about two hours of discussions. About this informs press service of the President of Ukraine.
The summit was attended by the heads of state and government of Ukraine, Great Britain, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, Romania, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden, as well as Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council Chairman Antonio Kosta.
Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer acted as the organizer of the summit. During the event, they discussed the challenges facing Ukraine and Europe, the fight against Russian aggression, and possible ways to achieve a just and sustainable peace.
“The leaders discussed the continuation of financial support for the Ukrainian defense industry, including investments in domestic arms production, as well as increased funding for the European defense industry,” – the message says.

Sanctions against Russia, including asset freezes, will remain in place until a lasting peace is achieved. A clear position was also agreed that a potential ceasefire should be based on reliable security guarantees. The possibility of using the mechanisms of the North Atlantic Treaty as one of the instruments for guaranteeing security, as well as the further strengthening of the Ukrainian army, is being considered.
The leaders also discussed the key role of the US in providing adequate support and the need to work together to end the war and strengthen transatlantic unity. The development of a specific plan will continue on the basis of proposals from France and Great Britain. The next meeting of European leaders will take place in the near future, and it will present an updated strengthened defense plan for Europe.
