The ex-director of the defense plant bought a Ferrari for the Russians: details of the scandal
Former acting director of the state-owned enterprise of the Ministry of Defense “Oboronautoremservice” Valentyn Slobodyaniuk found himself at the center of criminal proceedings due to the declaration of false data. About this informs “Glavkom”, referring to the Register of Court Decisions.
According to the results of the investigation, Slobodianyuk indicated in his electronic declarations for 2022-2023 that he owns a luxury Ferrari Roma car of 2020, worth more than UAH 6.4 million. He noted that he became the owner of the car in May 2022.
However, the investigators came to the conclusion that the ex-director only fictitiously owns the Ferrari, and the real owners of the car are two Russian citizens living in the EU. They appealed to Slobodianyuk with a request to clear the car in Ukraine free of charge after the introduction of preferential conditions that were in effect during the war.
The Russians bought the car in April 2022 at a German car showroom for 210,000 euros. After that, the Polish citizen brought the Ferrari to Ukraine for customs clearance. It was Slobodyaniuk, who at that time had the surname Shtyka, who helped to organize the ceremony. A few days later, the car crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border, after which it was taken back to Europe, where the sports car is in Paris under the control of the Russians.
Thanks to the scheme, it was possible to avoid paying taxes in the amount of 63 thousand euros. The Pechersk District Court has already impounded the car registered to Slobodianyuk, and he himself resigned from “Oboronautoremservice” in early May 2024, shortly before the initiation of a criminal case.
Before signing the Ferrari, Slobodyaniuk also took out a loan of UAH 6.5 million, which he reported in his declarations. The money was allegedly lent to him by a citizen of Ukraine, Denys Zapisnyi.
