Alina Kapriy was awarded a diploma for participating in the master class. The award ceremony will take place on May 3 as part of the “European Spring” festival in the concert hall of Westerlövst, Sweden.
The contest was initiated by Ukrainian pianist Natalia Pasichnyk with the aim of supporting talented youth, promoting Ukrainian classical music and strengthening the international presence of Ukrainian culture on the music scene.
The participants had to perform works by Ukrainian composers — in particular, Mykola Lysenko, Kostiantyn Stetsenko, Levko Revutskyi, Borys Lyatoshinskyi or Vasyl Barvinskyi, as well as one composition by a contemporary author of the 21st century from Ukraine.
The composition of the jury was headed by Natalia Pasichnyk. It also included: Peter Eriksson – chairman of the Association of Swedish Festivals and member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Kari Hilderbrand – artistic director of Westerløst and head of the respective foundation, as well as a representative of the Anders Wahl Foundation.
The project was implemented with the support of the Anders Wahl Foundation, the Westerlovsk Foundation and the Ukrainian Institute in Sweden.
