Slovakia will transfer demining machines and other equipment to Ukraine
Slovakia is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine, which will include Bozena demining machines and other equipment. This was reported by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
“An agreement on the transfer of non-lethal equipment and techniques was signed with the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense of Slovakia, Robert Kaliniak. Slovakia will provide Ukraine with engineering and construction equipment free of charge, including Bozena machines, transport, demining complexes, and medical evacuation equipment, the message says.
The Minister of Defense of Slovakia, Robert Kaliniak, during the International Forum of Defense Industries DFNC3 in Kyiv confirmed that his country has agreed to a new package of military support, which includes engineering equipment and anti-mine equipment.
“Together with Denys Shmygal, we just signed a memorandum on the 14th support package, which provides for Slovakia’s provision of engineering and anti-mine assistance to Ukraine,” Kaliniak noted.
He emphasized that the current visit to Kyiv is aimed at expanding defense cooperation between the countries, and also announced plans to develop joint projects in the field of security and defense. The minister emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the capabilities of Slovakia’s defense industry have increased significantly.
“We increased the production of artillery ammunition by 15 times and indirect fire systems by three times. We completed a joint project with Denmark on the supply of 16 Zuzana howitzers just a few weeks ago,” Kaliniak added.
Defense cooperation became one of the key topics of the meeting between the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. This issue is planned to be further developed during the upcoming fourth intergovernmental session.
