The first Hobby Horse Championship was held in Germany (video)

A new sport that originated in Finland, where participants jump on a wooden stick with a horse’s head, is rapidly gaining popularity around the world. And Germany was no exception. The German Hobby Horsing Association (Deutscher Hobby Horsing Verband, DtHHV) was even created here, which unites about 5,000 members and 231 local organizations.

This weekend, the first national championships were held in Frankfurt am Main at the Olympic Athletics Center, which attracted approximately 1,000 spectators. writes PICTURE.

About 300 participants from all over Germany took part in this competition, most of them girls. The youngest participant is only 4 years old, and the oldest is 50. The championship program included various disciplines: show jumping, parade, trot and gallop.

During the competition, there was also a shop where you could buy everything you need for hobby horse riding. The wooden horses on sale cost up to 500 euros, and according to the rules, their heads must weigh at least 300 grams.
