Belgium creates far-right party named after Donald Trump

A far-right French-speaking party called TRUMP has been founded in Belgium, named after former US President Donald Trump. The new political force is ideologically based on his views, reports BRUZZ.

The party was founded by former head of the Belgian National Front (NF), Salvatore Nicotra. He explained that the name TRUMP is an acronym for Tous Réunis pour l’Union des Mouvements Populistes – “All united for the Union of Populist Movements”. The politician openly associates the new political brand with the figure of Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump – is the ultimate symbol of populism. He immediately embodies what we stand for”, – Nicotra stated.

The TRUMP party positions itself as a right-wing populist force with a “social bias” and plans to participate in the federal elections, as well as in the elections to the European Parliament in 2029. Unlike the country’s largest far-right party, Vlaams Belang, the new political force does not support the idea of dividing Belgium.

Salvatore Nicotra, who was a municipal councilor in the Brussels district of Saint-Gilles from 1994 to 2000, does not rule out participating in elections in the capital or at the local level. The co-founders include several former members of the National Front, including Emanuele Licari, who was previously expelled from the Vlaams Belang lists for glorifying fascism.

The official presentation of the new party is scheduled for November 30.
