The former director of one of the municipal enterprises of the Kharkiv City Council has been notified of suspicion of entering knowingly false information into the annual declaration. According to the investigation, while in office, he did not indicate in the 2023 reporting assets, the total value of which is almost 4.3 million hryvnias.
As reported in the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Department of Strategic investigations of the National Police of Ukraine, it concerns real estate and premium vehicles.
In particular, the former official did not reflect information about a residential building and two land plots located on the territory of a gardening society in the Kharkiv region, which officially belong to his wife. In addition, the declaration did not contain data about the Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG cars.
Previously, representatives of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption had already recorded violations in the reporting of this official for previous periods. Then, experts established the fact of concealing a garden house with an area of almost 90 square meters and foreign real estate used by members of the suspect’s family. The wife’s income from the sale of vehicles was also not reflected.
Currently, an investigation is underway into the fact that the subject of the declaration deliberately provided false data. Law enforcement agencies emphasized that at the time of the presentation of the suspicion, the defendant had already been dismissed from his position.
Cases of identifying unjustified assets among civil servants and representatives of local self-government bodies remain the subject of systematic work by controlling structures. According to official statistics, tens of thousands of officials continue to report the absence of their own housing, which becomes the subject of additional checks by anti-corruption bodies.
