The former head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the SBU was charged with illegal enrichment (video)
The SBU, together with the National Security Agency and the Prosecutor General’s Office, exposed the scheme of illegal enrichment of the former head of the Main Department of Internal Security of the SBU.

“Employees of the SBI informed the former head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine about suspicion of illegal enrichment. In cooperation with the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Bureau discovered that a former official of the Service had acquired unjustified assets in the total amount of UAH 32.7 million“, the message says.
As the investigation established, the suspect, while holding a senior position in the SBU, acquired assets for a total amount of UAH 32.7 million, the origin of which he could not explain.
His illegal assets include:
- A Toyota Land Cruiser 200 car worth almost UAH 2.3 million, registered to the wife’s father.
- BMW X6 xDrive40d worth 116,000 euros, registered to his wife.
- Cash: almost 593 thousand euros and more than 120 thousand US dollars.
- Two emeralds worth more than 6.5 thousand euros each
Currently, the former official has been charged with illegal enrichment (Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This is the second suspicion announced to him by the SBI. Previously, he was exposed for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it through abuse of official position, as well as abuse of power or official position (Part 4 of Article 191, Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
