The government decided to increase funding for the Affordable Medicines program

In 2025, the “Affordable Medicines” program is planned to be significantly expanded, for which UAH 6.6 billion is provided in the state budget. About this informs “Government Portal”.
The updated list of drugs will include more than 30 new active substances, including combination drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular, rheumatological, neurological, ophthalmological and endocrinological diseases, such as hypothyroidism and migraine.
It is expected that at least 500,000 Ukrainians will be able to save on treatment. For the first time, the program will provide free medicines for children, as well as medicines in the form of drops and ointments.
The expansion of the program is implemented with the support of the President of Ukraine as part of the government initiative “Winter Support”. In addition, additional measures are provided, such as subsidies, support for internally displaced persons (IDPs), extra payments to teachers, stable winter tariffs and free meals for schoolchildren.
Innovations are designed to increase the availability of medicines, in particular for residents of villages, frontline and remote regions. Medicines can be obtained through Ukrposhta or mobile pharmacy points.
