The government has increased compensation limits for businesses for damaged property
The Cabinet of Ministers has expanded the war risk insurance program for businesses and increased the amount of compensation. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
From now on, for enterprises in front-line regions, the maximum amount of compensation for damaged or destroyed property has increased from UAH 10 million to UAH 30 million. For the rest of Ukraine, the maximum amount of insurance premium compensation has been increased from UAH 1 million to UAH 3 million.
The government has also abolished the norm that reduced the amount of compensation by the amount of previously received grants or other state support. In addition, enterprises that have already submitted applications will be able to clarify them by May 1, 2026. This includes the possibility of increasing the declared amount of losses or adding other property to the application if it fell under the terms of the program at the time of damage or destruction.
The changes also affected insurance premium compensation. You can now apply for compensation on the 31st day after concluding an insurance contract, which should speed up business access to support. If the insurance premium is paid in installments, the compensation will also be paid in stages – in proportion to the payments actually made.
According to Yulia Svyridenko, since the start of the program, businesses have submitted 52 applications for compensation for damaged or destroyed property. 20 of them have already been confirmed for a total of UAH 166.5 million. Another 21 applications were submitted for compensation for insurance premiums.
