The head of the Cherkasy TCC will be tried for failure to comply with the mobilization plan

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation completed pre-trial investigation in the case of the head of the Cherkasy United City Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support. The official is suspected of knowingly helping some conscripts avoid the draft, which led to the failure of plans to send mobilized people to training centers and combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The indictment has been submitted to the court.

The investigators found out that the officer, abusing his official powers, unjustifiably made decisions on exemption from conscription and cancellation of service of summonses to individual men. Such actions negatively affected the process of manning military units, in particular those involved in the performance of special tasks during martial law.

Exclusion of individual persons from the mobilization lists caused a public outcry, discredited the activity of territorial recruitment centers and the mobilization process in general, contributing to a negative attitude towards military service and undermining the authority of Ukrainian servicemen.

The official is accused of negligent attitude to official duties, which caused significant damage in the conditions of martial law (Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), as well as of exceeding official powers by an official, if this led to serious consequences during martial law (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Sanctions under these articles include imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years with the possibility of further prohibition to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years. Procedural management in the case was carried out by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the General Prosecutor’s Office.
