The head of Ukrposhta, Smilyansky, answered whether he is ashamed of receiving a salary of almost UAH 1 million per month
General Director of Ukrposhta Ihor Smilyansky stated that he is not ashamed of his salary, which is almost 1 million UAH per month before taxes.
“Everyone has your salary on the surface. Last year you received 11.7 million UAH. That’s before taxes. On average, 970 thousand per month. Aren’t you ashamed to have such a salary?”, asked journalist Yanina Sokolova.
“No. It’s €15 thousand. Before Ukrposhta I had $50 thousand per month. And something tells me that after “I will probably have more at Ukrposhta,” Smilyansky replied.
He noted that he continues to work at the company because “there are things that are not measured in money.” According to Smilyansky, his contract is valid until the end of martial law and another 90 days after that. After the contract expires, he plans to leave his position.
“I definitely don’t hold on to my position, I just want to finish the reforms,” the head of Ukrposhta emphasized.
