The Kremlin has put forward a condition for establishing a 30-day ceasefire.
The spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation, Dmytro Peskov, said that the United States and European countries should stop supplying Ukraine with weapons in order to reach an agreement on a 30-day ceasefire. About this informs ABC News.
Peskov noted that Ukraine has already agreed to declare a truce for 30 days, which, according to him, is also supported by US President Donald Trump, but Kyiv is allegedly not ready for full negotiations.
“Putin supported the cease-fire, but in the conditions when the Russian army is confidently advancing on the front, the supply of Western weapons should be stopped during the armistice, as well as the training of the personnel of the Armed Forces, otherwise this period will give Ukraine an advantage.” – emphasized Peskov.
The Kremlin hopes that mediation by Donald Trump will allow the Russian side to be “more flexible, gain more political will and become more politically wise towards the Kyiv regime.”
“Putin is doing everything he can to solve the problem, to reach a settlement through peaceful and diplomatic means. But without peaceful and diplomatic means at hand, we are forced to continue the military operation. But we really hope that the US mediation, led by President Trump, will help bring a little more flexibility, a little more political will and wisdom to the “Kiev regime”, – concluded Peskov.
