MP from Dnipro suspected of forging documents for a foreign vacation in Greece
Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, suspicion was reported to the current deputy of the Dnipro City Council, who simultaneously holds the position of head of one of the districts of the city administration and was elected from the political party “OPZZH” (currently a member of the deputy group “For Ukraine! For the Dnipro!”). This is reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
He is suspected of organizing the entry of knowingly false information into an official document and the use of a forged document, which is classified under parts 3 of Article 27, 1 of Article 366 and 4 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to current regulations, during martial law, deputies of local councils may cross the state border only with a properly executed decision on a business trip.
According to the investigation, in June 2023, the deputy decided to travel abroad for private purposes. To circumvent the established restrictions, he organized a fictitious invitation from a foreign company to allegedly participate in a conference in Hungary. In reality, no event was held.
On the basis of the forged document, an order of the Dnipro City Mayor on a business trip was issued, which gave the deputy the right to cross the state border of Ukraine. Using this permission, the deputy and his family went on vacation to the island of Rhodes in Greece, where he stayed from June 27 to July 13, 2023, after which he returned to Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until his guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
