The Ministry of Culture created a commission to check the condition of the Pochaiv Lavra

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine initiated an inspection of the state property of the Kremenets-Pochaiv state historical and architectural reserve, in particular the complex of buildings of the Pochaiv Lavra, which has been in the free use of the UOC (MP) since 2003.
Text of the decree made public on the website of the ministry.
“Form a commission to check the state of preservation of the state property of the Kremenets-Pochaiv State Historical and Architectural Reserve (EDRPOU code 26024191) (hereinafter referred to as the Commission) in accordance with the appendix. The Commission, in the period from June 3, 2024 to June 29, 2024, to ensure the inspection of the state of preservation of the state real estate of the Kremenets-Pochaiv State Historical and Architectural Reserve, which was transferred under Agreement No. 1 of December 12, 2003 on the free use of the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra – the complex of buildings of the Pochaiv Lavra – monuments of architecture, which are state property, in the order determined by the legislation of Ukraine, about which relevant acts must be drawn up”, – the decree states.
The decision to create a special commission was made on May 24, and the inspection is scheduled for the period from June 3 to 29. The commission included representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the reserve, the State Emergency Service and the Ternopil OVA.
This step takes place against the background of the recent termination of the agreement on the free use of the property of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra with the UOC (MP) and numerous incidents accompanying the inspections of the commission of the Ministry of Culture at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
We will remind that in March 2023, the “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” reserve terminated the contract with the UOC (MP), and the Economic Court of Kyiv recognized this decision as legal.
