The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and officially approved for use in the Armed Forces domestically produced unmanned aerial systems “Baton Optik”. This was reported in the Main Directorate for Life Cycle Support of Weapons and Military Equipment, informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The “Baton Optik” quadcopter has a light design, is equipped with powerful engines, a capacious battery and a fiber-optic control channel. Its combat charge allows you to effectively destroy tactical vehicles, enemy firing points and ammunition depots. The device is also capable of operating in difficult weather conditions. Depending on the configuration option, Baton Optik drones can be equipped with twilight vision cameras or thermal imagers.
As a reminder, in February 2025, more than 100 new types of weapons and military equipment were approved for use in the army, 90% of which were produced by Ukrainian enterprises. Among the newest types of weapons that have been approved for use in the military are unmanned aerial systems, ammunition for them, electronic warfare systems, means of protection against radiation, chemical and biological threats, automotive equipment, aviation equipment and other equipment.
“We have to win the technological race against the enemy. Ukrainian drones, EW systems, reconnaissance, weapons of destruction must prevail over enemy models in terms of their tactical and technical characteristics. The arithmetic of war in our case is about increasing the lethality and effectiveness of the use of means.”, – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Defense Valery Churkin.
