The Ministry of Digital Transformation has updated the Principles of Responsible Gaming
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has made changes to the Principles of Responsible Gaming, which regulate the work of gambling organizers. The updated regulations are aimed at strengthening the protection of players and preventing the development of gaming addiction, providing clear requirements for user identification, self-control and providing information.
“They are mandatory for licensed gambling organizers – make gambling safer for players”, the ministry said.
Among the main provisions: the game can only start after the player has set time and cost limits for himself; the organizer is obliged to block access if the player has submitted an application for self-restriction; any incentive to continue playing is prohibited – no bonuses, alcohol or gifts for losing or after a player has decided to stop; organizers should post information about the risks of addiction and contact services where help can be obtained.
As reported by the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the order will enter into force after its official publication, which will give gambling organizers time to prepare to meet the new requirements.
We remind you that in 2024, the state budget of Ukraine lost UAH 20.1 billion in tax revenues due to schemes in the gambling business, and this year — UAH 10.2 billion.
