ARMA searched for the assets of the defendants in the case of corruption in the forest industry

The Agency for Search and Management of Assets (ARMA), fulfilling the request of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine, revealed significant assets of the participants in the case of corruption in the forest industry. About this reported press office found.
According to the investigation, officials of the state enterprise in the field of forestry, acting in collusion with the representatives of the Polish Forestry Office and export companies, organized a scheme to significantly undercut the prices of wood during export. During 2023-2024, the cost of undervalued products reached 224 million hryvnias. Wood was exported at below-market prices through a controlled company to more than 90 foreign companies.
Specialists of the Department of Identification and Search of Assets of ARMA, together with the Security Department of SE “Forests of Ukraine”, searched for assets, including 45 land plots, 64 vehicles and more than 40,000 cubic meters of wood.
“Corruption in the forest industry is not only economic losses for the state, but also a threat to Ukraine’s ecological security. The identified assets should work for the benefit of the state, and ARMA will ensure this in the event of their transfer to the management of the National Agency.” – emphasized the Deputy Chairman of ARMA Pavlo Velikorechanin.
Information about the found assets has already been handed over to law enforcement officers for seizure and transfer to ARMA.
