The Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched digital notary services in 40 diplomatic missions of Ukraine
Ukrainians abroad can use the new digital system of notary services launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, the service is available in 40 Ukrainian embassies and consulates. About this reported Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga.
The key change is the ability to go through all stages of submitting and processing documents online — without the need for a personal visit to a diplomatic mission.
“Previously, in order to perform a notarial act at the consulate, a citizen had to come in person and submit all the necessary documents in paper form, write a statement in his own hand; inform what powers he is going to transfer to another person, agree with the consul on the text of the necessary power of attorney; pay the consular fee (usually at the post office or in a bank), and then wait for the consul to print the power of attorney and receive it in the afternoon.” – explained Sybiga.
To use the service, citizens must log in to the “e-Consul” portal, fill out an online application, download a sample document, and attach the necessary files. The system will tell you which documents are required. The consular officer checks the data and, in the absence of errors, approves the registration. Next, the system forms a notarial document, and the user receives a notification about the readiness and need to pay the consular fee.
“It remains to register in the e-Queue to receive a ready-made document, arrive at the diplomatic institution at the specified time, personally sign the document and, after the consul has entered the information in the register of notarial acts, receive the issued document”, – noted the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The service is currently available at diplomatic missions in Australia, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Botswana, Vietnam, Ghana, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Qatar, Kenya, China (in Guangzhou and Shanghai), Congo, Korea, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Kuwait, Latvia, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, Mozambique, UAE, Oman, South Africa, Peru, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, Thailand, Tunisia, Chile, Japan, as well as in the Consulates General in Milan, Hamburg and Gdańsk.
The service is currently in test mode, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to expand it to other diplomatic missions of Ukraine abroad.
