The Ministry of Strategic Industry announced the creation of an electronic catalogue of manufacturers of components for the defence industry
An electronic catalog of manufacturers of components for the defense industry called “Library of components” will soon start functioning in Ukraine. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Hanna Gvozdyar, during the Defense Tech Valley investment forum.
According to Hvozdyar, one of the problems in the defense sector is insufficient communication between component manufacturers. The “Library of components” will become a digital project that will be synchronized with the Diya platform, giving companies the opportunity to find the necessary components produced in Ukraine and contact their manufacturers.
The project is planned to be launched in a month. At this moment, the process of filling the catalog continues, and several hundred manufacturers will join it. In the future, companies will be able to add information about themselves. Verification of participants through the “Diya” system by the EDRP code will ensure protection of the catalog from unwanted persons.
“This will be a digital platform to facilitate the search for partners. Our users will enter through the EDRP code, we will understand that these are the developers”, – noted Hvozdyar.
She also emphasized the importance of the development of domestic production of components for the Ukrainian economy. Localization of production, although it may be more expensive, will ensure higher product quality, reduce logistics costs and simplify the process of improving components.
It was previously reported that the Ukrainian company “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles” concluded an agreement with the Czech Czechoslovak Group (CSG) on the joint production of 155-mm shells.
