Ukraine and the US will launch mass production of “Shahedi” interceptors

The Ukrainian company Bullet and the American AIRO Group Holdings, Inc. have signed a letter of intent to form a joint venture to produce high-speed interceptor drones. This was reported by the AIRO press service.

The partnership is planned on a 50/50 basis and will be focused on the needs of the United States, NATO countries and Ukraine. According to the press release, the final signing of the agreement is expected within 60 days. After that, the new company intends to cooperate with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and enter into contracts with the US Department of Defense, NATO and allies.

The technical characteristics of the drones are impressive: they can reach speeds of up to 300 miles per hour (450 km/h), cover distances of up to 200 km and carry a payload of 2.5 to 9 kg. The company will also focus on developing next-generation interceptor and strike configurations.

“The speed of 300 miles per hour provides unprecedented speed of response to air threats, and the proven combat effectiveness of drones in operations in Ukraine demonstrates reliability in real-world conditions,”, the message says.

AIRO positions itself as a technology platform in the fields of aerospace solutions, autonomous vehicles and air mobility, working in the areas of drones, avionics, training and electric air mobility.

“For those serving on the front lines, every second counts. By bringing combat-proven Ukrainian technology to U.S. production, we are not only creating a faster and more flexible interceptor platform, but also providing our troops and allies with the tools they need to decisively respond to air threats and protect lives,” said Joe Burns, CEO of AIRO Group.
