Last year, Ukrainians concluded 2,762 marriage contracts. This is 7% more than in 2023, informs Opendatabot platform.
As of now, 1 marriage contract accounts for 54 concluded marriages. For comparison, in 2023 this proportion was 1 contract for 72 marriages. It is noted that 150,210 marriages were registered in Ukraine last year, which is 19% less than in 2023 and 30% less than before the start of the full-scale invasion.
Expert Talina Kravtsova notes that marriage contracts are now very popular, as they make it possible to determine in advance the status of the property that the partners will receive after concluding the agreement. According to her, for couples where one of the spouses is a foreigner, a marriage contract is a standard practice that shows a serious approach to planning family life.
