By data of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, in January-February 2026, customs authorities detected 1,822 violations of customs rules for a total amount of UAH 460 million. This is 24% more compared to the same period in 2025.
Out of 1,822 recorded cases, objects of violations in the amount of UAH 89 million were temporarily seized in 624 cases. Among them:
-
industrial goods worth 70 million UAH;
-
food products worth 13 million UAH;
-
vehicles worth over 5 million UAH;
-
currency for 0.8 million UAH.
In addition, in 165 cases, including cases initiated earlier, customs applied administrative penalties in the form of fines in the amount of 3 million UAH. UAH 9 million was collected from the state budget, taking into account previously considered cases.
The courts considered 959 cases transferred by customs authorities for a total amount of over 332 million UAH. Based on the results of the review, including cases from previous periods, penalties totaling UAH 3.86 billion were imposed, including both fines and confiscation of goods.
The increase in customs violations is associated with increased control over the movement of goods across the border and the intensification of the fight against the illegal circulation of industrial and food products, vehicles, and currency. Customs authorities note that increased attention to control allows not only to collect fines, but also to ensure the return of illegally moved goods to the state budget.
