The number of missing people in Ukraine has exceeded 90 thousand: Artur Dobroserdov

In Ukraine, the Unified Register of Missing Persons under Special Circumstances currently has over 90 thousand records. This number includes both military personnel and civilians, including children. This was reported by the Commissioner for Missing Persons Artur Dobroserdov.

He specified that the majority of persons on the register are servicemen of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Vladimir Zelensky, during his speech at the Munich Security Conference, stated that approximately 7 thousand Ukrainian servicemen are in Russian captivity.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has returned 5,857 people from captivity, more than 550 more – outside the exchange. On August 3, an agreement was reached to exchange 1,200 people, and on August 14, 84 Ukrainians, including military personnel and civilians, returned home.

The 68th prisoner exchange took place on August 24, when military personnel and eight civilians returned to Ukraine. The 69th exchange on October 2, 2025, returned 185 military personnel and 20 civilians. On February 5, 157 citizens returned from Russian captivity, and the same number were sent to Russia.
