The petition to confer the title of Hero of Ukraine on Andriy Parubiy has received the necessary number of votes for consideration

As of the morning of September 11, 25,176 people had signed the petition to grant the title of Hero of Ukraine to Andriy Parubiy (posthumously). This is evidenced by data on the website of the President of Ukraine, where it was registered.

We would like to remind you that on September 2, a petition appeared on the website of the President of Ukraine with a request to award a people’s deputy from the “European Solidarity” faction, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation, the commandant of Self-Defense Maidan and a well-known statesman Andriy Parubiy.

It is worth noting that an electronic petition addressed to the President of Ukraine can be considered only if at least 25,000 citizen signatures are collected in support of it within three months from the moment of publication.

The authors of the appeal emphasized that Andriy Parubiy devoted his whole life to serving the Ukrainian state, protecting its sovereignty, independence and democratic principles. He made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian parliamentarism and played a key role in ensuring the security of the Maidan during the events of 2013-2014.

“His consistent pro-Ukrainian position, devotion to state interests, contribution to strengthening national security and European integration of Ukraine deserve the highest state award – the title of Hero of Ukraine”, says the text of the petition.
